SUNDIAL GROWERS

COMMUNCATIONS & EVENT COORDINATOR

January 2018 – March 2018 (3-month contract)

Calgary, AB

RESPONSIBILITIES

COMMUNICATIONS

  • Daily monitoring and executive reporting of Sundial media and social mentions
  • Assist in the production of a weekly Sundial Staff Bulletin
  • Assist with the preparation of content for Sundial Shareholders: including monthly updates and AGM reports
  • Participate in the development of media releases and key messaging

EVENTS
Create detailed event plans and help deliver the event – detail and specifics will vary depending on the event and may include:

  • Staffing planning and communications
  • Trade show, engagement sessions, and other events
  • Items such as décor, catering, security, etc
  • Coordinating vendors and sponsors
  • Materials (printed and otherwise) needed
  • Being the lead on event day
  • Access to a vehicle is required
  • Problem solving as needed

PUBLIC RELATIONS

  • Coordination of various campaigns and activities
  • Assist in the creation of digital assets (such as landing pages, microsites, partner sites, etc) as events and initiatives require
  • Project coordination of special projects, such as event organization, and promotions

OTHER

  • Build out media and other stakeholder databases
  • Perform other duties, as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary degree in communications, marketing and business education, or proven equivalent
  • 2-3 years marketing or events experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with digital marketing programs and social media accounts
  • Superior writing skills
  • End to end event organization experience
  • Innovative & creative with great attention to detail
  • Able to create positive and effective working relationships with stakeholders and external suppliers
  • Deliver a high degree of customer service
  • Able to make sound decisions and recommendations, meet deadlines and take direction
  • Experience in the consumer goods industry will be an asset, however candidates with equivalent experience are welcome to apply
